I moved this from the DIY section to the General Help section. As per the forum rules, please do not post help question in the DIY section.

Have you checked for stored codes?

Any other issues with the car?

I had an EX and I never felt vtec kick in. Vtec enables around 1800-2500 rpm.

No engine codes = working vtec.

At high rpm, you probably feel the intake runners open to allow more air into the engine.

One thing you may want to do is to clean the EGR ports. There is a link in the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum for the 94-97 accords.
