I just recently got an 00 Accord. I am good friends with the owner of a local salvage yard and got the car after they had fixed everything on it because it was a theft recovery. The stock cd player is in need of an unlock code and I was wondering if anyone could help me with this or if I needed to take it to a dealership and if that would cost me any money? Thanks all I hope I can find some help on here.

 

Go to a dealership. They have to match the VIN number with the serial number on the stereo and then they'll be able to find the unlock code.

so I went to the Honda dealership in my town today and the guy told me I would have to make an appointment, they would have to pull my cd player, get the serial number and then get the code...and it would cost about $45...is there anyone that works at a dealership that could hook me up?

 

Ask what they charge if YOU pull the cd player out; & all they have to do is look it up.

 

ya I asked and they said they can't do that because of security reasons

 

OK, I guess its PROOF of OWNERSHIP. After all, the whole point of thatunlocking codeis anti-theft...
