Hi all, I just bought my '01. Shes a 2dr ex 4cyl. Im noticing that the driver door makes a rattle when I shut it. I took the door panel off and nothing inside indicates anything wrong. The car has 100k on it, is this normal? It just sounds like crap. Help please!

 

Does the door latch securely w/ little or no play? A door that is misaligned due to worn hinges or slipped door hinges will be hard to shut and sound bad. Misalignment would show signs on the latch and striker of parts banging and sliding. Fix is new hinge pins or corrected door alignment.

Other possibilities are a loose window-door regulator (bolt connections loose), worn or misaligned window guide channel allowing window to rattle, or loose regulator (loose rivets or bolts).

Make sure the screw in the door hand securely connectos door panel to window and all plastic snaps on the door panel have latched to the door frame.

Thanks for the input. It seems as if the door locking mechanism is worn out or something? THe plastic my be just worn. Thanks again!
