01 Accord EX....Radio problems
My Bosses 01 Accord EX's radio code will not work. The cars battery died while seating at an airport last Feb. and he had to have it replaced. After the replacement the radio asked for the code in which he had handy. After multiple trys of entering it he just gave up. I saw this yesterday when I relized he was running a regular Radio through his ac jack. I tried the code to no avail...The dearship says its the right code for the car. What else could be the problem. Should he just get another radio.

After several (4-5?) failed tries, the radio "locks" to prevent further attempts. You can reset by pulling the BackUp fuse or negative battery cable for 20 secs to reset the radio to "Code". Then enter the digits sequentially and radio should re-enable.

Maybe it's not the original radio from the factory? Maybe your boss has the radio security card from a previous Honda he used to own?
Go to www dot ahm-ownerlink dot com
create a username profile
register the VIN of the car
Click a button for "Radio Security Code"
You'll need:
VIN of the car
serial # off the back of the radio
zipcode & phone # from car's current registered owner

I thought that it may be a different radio but he swears it is the one the code goes to. I did reset the radio back to just code and tried again to no avail. How do you pull the radio to get the serial # off the back.

to pull the radio out there is two screws on the bottom of the face plate around the radio and the a/c controls. Take those out and then take a small flat head screw driver and pop the clock out where you'll find two more screws remove those then the cover should pop off. Then look around the radio where you should find four screws and remove them. That should be it.
