'01 Accord Needs Radio Code After Battery Replacement
I have a 2001 Accord V6 and I recently replaced my battery. My radio system will not work because it states it needs a code. What do I do? Can I do this without going to the dealership?

The information on how to enter the security code is in the owners manual. Sometimes the code is written in the owners manual, or on a card. Also, the security code can be on a sticker placed somewhere on the glove box.

Here is one possibility. There may be others. They have this wonderful thing on WWW called "google". It's amazing.

You can also get your radio anti-theft code by signing up with Honda Ownerlink.
www dot ahm-ownerlink dot com
create your account, add your car by using it's VIN. Somewhere in there is a way to get your radio code. (assuming the radio hasn't been swapped by a previous owner)

On American Honda's on-line site, the radio code is provided if some of the owner of record's information is entered online (since you bought the car used, your info. would probably not match what Honda has recorded in their database as the owner). In that case, you can speak to their customer service rep. via phone or bring proof of registration to a dealership to obtain the radio code.
