I have an 03 accord LX with the cheaper factory radio unit in it, just a single disk CD player with radio. It is not the model that has had the recall due the LCD displaying going all black. My radio unit is turning off and on at what seems to random times. Sometimes it stays off for a few minutes. I have noticed that it usually has to do with the engine running at lower RPM's. The dealer told me they had never seen the problem before. Has anyone had a similar problem before? The are no other electrical issue that I have noticed with the car.

 

monitor the voltage when this happens. do you experience any headlight dimming at the same time? what about when the car is not running but key is on?

could be a loose connection for the radio power - at the harness or fuse box. you never know what the previous owner did to it. does it retain radio presets?
