05 Accord Center Module Assembly interchangeable?
Hi, I'm new to forums and this is my first post. I am not a car expert. The heat and AC in my 2005 Honda Accord EX V6 does not work, and my mechanic told me it's because the computer in the center module assembly is dead. The parts dept at my local honda dealer told me the part I need is 39050-SDA-L41ZA, but it's been discontinued (and is outrageously expensive) so I'm looking for a used one. A local junk yard has one for $1000, but that's rather expensive so I'm turning to ebay for other options. I found a listing for something for $150 that looks exactly the same but has the part number 39051-SDR-A410-M1. I did some googling and I think (but am not sure) this is for the hybrid version of the '05 Accord. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether these center module assemblies are at all interchangeable. If I buy the 39051-SDR-A410-M1 part for $150, will it be compatible with my car? Do I need to pony up the $1000 for an exact match on the part number? Thank you!
Before spending a lot of money on the whole stereo assembly, what is not working with your heat or a/c? Is the fan pushing air through vents? Do any of the heating ventilation/air conditions (HVAC) buttons work?
Hi thanks for your response. The fan is not blowing any air. When the heat is on, after 45 minutes or so if I put my hand on the vent I can feel some warmth spilling through, but it won't blow. Sometimes the same thing happens when the AC is on, where some cold air is spilling through but not blowing. There have also been a few times when the AC is on and there's cold air blasting out of one side of the car and hot air blasting out of the other side. It's been finicky for awhile. The biggest problem is that I can't defog or thaw the windshield. It's the kind of system where the only way to turn the heat or AC on (that I know of) is to set the temperature. Here's a photo of what the assembly module looks like (I taped over the screen because it's unresponsive and flickers on and off at night which is distracting). So you push the "auto" button and then the up or down arrows to set the temperature, and the system reads the current temperature in the car and should blow out hot or cold air accordingly. But these days nothing blows out of vents.
