Got a mailer from the dealer where I can save 10% off the 150,000 mile service. The dealer suggests to get this maintenance done, should I get it done? What does it involve? I sometimes think that these mileage services are a big way for the dealer to make commission.

Any thoughts or suggestions are highly appreciated.

 

Of course they will make money off it... they make money on everything they do. However, if you need it done I'd give them a call (don't tell them you have the coupon) and say that your car has a little over 153,000 miles and a friend of yours said it's service time. Ask what they think needs done and ask for a quote, then if it's usefull stuff write the info down and go in, tell them that you got a coupon for the service and get it done (if you need it... and don't want to do it yourself...)
