17 Honda Accord Maintenance Minder Reset
Hi. I understand I can reset maintenance minder for replacing oil. But what if I or a garage (non-dealership) performs other maintenance flush as coolant flush or transmission flush? Can I reset the maintenance minder w/o resetting just the oil life?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Resetting of individual maintenance items can only be done with Honda Diagnostic System (HDS). HDS is Honda' proprietary hardware/software.
Without HDS, when resetting the Maintenance Minder for oil, it will also reset other maintenance minder code(s) shown at the time.
To me it is not a big deal, if other services were already done before or will be done shortly after reset.

Ok thanks.
One other Q - I dont see any codes at the moment but my car has >45K miles and I dont have any records (via carfax) of a coolant service (45K miles) or transmission fluid replacement (3 yrs/30K miles per Honda dealership)... Recommend I just wait for the code to come up or take it into a garage and pay fee for them to check if these services need to be done.

Since the car has over 45K miles and it is about 4 years old, and there are no known service records of the coolant or transmission fluid changed, I would just change them for piece of mind and as maintenance.
I actually change most of the maintenance items on my cars at regular intervals, and don't follow the maintenance minder. But, that's just me.

Oh, and does replacing transmission fluids every 30K miles sound right? Dealer was charging $295 which sounded like it was something more involved, like a transmission flush (which I understand isnt until 90k miles). Perhaps replacing transmission fluids is just more expensive than I thought.
