1989 Honda Accord broken engine block
I have a 1989 Honda Accord Lx-i sedan, now here is my issue,
(if I have posted in the wrong spot I apollogize, or if a mod could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!)
The engine block is broken where the rear engine mount bolts to the block, I know this a common problem for these models when involved in a front end collision. I also happen to know that Honda (or some other company that sold them through Honda) made a kit to re-route the engine mount bracket to an area located by the power steering pump and to two "dead" holes in the cylinder head. (I had to do this to my 1988 Accord DX hatch) but the most experienced Honda parts guy I know is now deceased, and all these younger part representatives have no clue what I am talking about, and tell me to buy a new engine. Now I was hoping *crosses fingers* that someone on here knows what kit I am talking about! and can maybe give me a part number or know where I can get one
I tried looking through salvage but most of these poor old machines have been completely stripped or crushed, or dont have the bracket I need :P
I tried google, yahoo, ask, bing, etc etc, and searched her on the forums with my wife on another coumputer. and to no avail...
so..
feel free to message me if I didnt supply enough information
or if you think im a looney
thanks guys and gals
John
