If you do get the check engine light turning on, check the code first just to be sure that the coolant temp sensor is not causing the check engine light to turn on. That depends if the coolant sensor that broke was the one used by the ECU or the fan switch. Both have two wires going to it.

I can imagine cleaning up someone's mess is not fun. It sounds like the person who tried to do the work was way over their head and really messed things up.

yea im seriously gonna charge extra next time someone brings me something in pieces id rather do the extra work and be confident in whats what than to try n piece together a car im unfamiliar with. but it was a learning experience and i now know a fair amount of troubleshooting for this and similar symptoms.
that being said, poorman its cool i was just answering your question, bc it was a little confusing, this thread does have alot of test info for no fuel or power to the rear and the main relay as well as the injector resistance and other oddball tests and procedures
pahonda, ill be back on about 10-1030, and im going to get the o2 sensor worked out by then( i hope( and that the only other code i have is for the coolant sensor and no trans codes fingers crossed

Engine code 6 and Transmission code 10 are both for the coolant temperature sensor. Replace the sensor, and you should be set.

he actually corrected him self and said it is code 1.

the lock up solenoid is on the upper end of the tranny towards the radiator fill cap. should be two cylinders on it.

there are three 10mm bolts holding to the tranny. there is a screen that can get clogged. clean that up and reinstall. also make sure the connections are clean and undamaged.

if you have a voltmeter, test the resistence(ohms) on the solenoid . should measure 12ohms-24ohms. on each pin. pin A and pin B

if it is code 10, i did find it and pahonda is correct. replace ect sensor and your fixed.

A long flash is = 10.

If you unplugged something like the EGR valve, you would see the difference between a long and short flash on the check engine light, because it would flash a code 12 (one long and two short).

yea guys looks like im buying a sensor tomar its a long flash i just wanted to recheck and since i know the sensor is broken its the number one on my list for tomar, i really didnt think it was the solenoid unless there was a blockage to the orifice under the solenoid ..i will report back once the sensor is in place..and hopefully u wont hear from me for a while
