Default 1991 Accord LX - Fuel Pump Doesn't Prime Sometimes

Fuel pump has been failing to prime intermittently, as if the fuel pump is dead. After a while, sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes a few hours, pump will prime like normal and the car will start. Once started, the car has no issues.

Replaced the fuel pump, same issue. Going to replace the pump relay next.

what else should I be checking? Fuses, anti-theft system, ignition switch?

The main fuel relay is the next place I'd look. That is also the fuel pump relay.

Here is a good video on repairing the main fuel relay. If you are good at soldering, this could fix your problem.

Thanks for your suggestion and the video link. I pulled the relay and saw two of the solder points with cracks. Already ordered a new relay for $17, so we'll see if that fixes my issue.

Overdue update. This was the fix I needed! I just purchased a fuel relay for $25 or so, and I've had no issues since.
