I would rather reply on the thread, so others can read and chime in.

The S light staying on without the switch plugged in would indicate that something is up with the TCU.

Did the code return after you tried driving the car?

Since you have a warranty on the TCU, I would contact the place where it was purchased and get another one. Tell them the S light remains on, but there are no codes stored in the TCU. The Honda part number for the TCU on a 91 LX AT is 28100-PX0-823. Make sure they sent you the correct TCU.

The 822 is a TCU for your accord.

The current part number ends with 823 and is the newest revision for the TCU. Not sure what changes honda makes when they made the revision. Both 822 and the 823 will work on your accord.

Ok I drove it down the road and then pulled the codes and got 15 again. It still doesn't want to shift. It went into 1st gear real slow... I take off and it slowly went into second,,it didn't want to very bad. It would not go into 3rd unless I shifted the shifter into 2 and then manually put it into 3rd and once again it didn't want to go in and took a little of babying the gas pedal to get it to go in. I let off the gas and when the rpms dropped down it slowly went into gear. Then it wouldn't go into 4th without alot of gas pedal finessing.. Could it possibly be the dang Shift solenoids??? Damn sure makes sense to me... but what do I know?? LOL
I have sent the trans computer to the people who rebuilt it back in July just to rule that out. Is there anybody out there that is reading my post that have ANY ideas as what might be going on??

Thanks for your time!

If the new transmission computer does not fix your problem, and the code 15 returns, replace that sensor.

The trans computer checked out OK. I am going to clean the main shaft sensor next. If that does not fix it where can I get a reasonably priced sensor? What do the parts stores exactly call it?

Thanks

the tcu's are 30 bucks at the scrap yard.... may have to go thru 15 cars to find a good one but you will.. and if not, buy a soder kit and order new resistors to replace the old ones...

I would open that suckah up, and look at the tcu.. if you have a busted cap, or blown resistors, more than likely there is your issue, if no issues, then put back in, and cross it off the possible problem list... as i have learned these tcu's going bad is a very common issue...

but like they said, if you originally got a code, replace that sensor with a scrapyard sensor, and give her a try...

have fun...gl!

I have cleaned the old solonoids and that didn't work so I replaced them and that didn't work. I'm gonna clean that sensor but I have a feeling it is internal I talked to a Honda mechanic yesterday and he is not hopeful....
