1991 Honda Accord Missfire.
When idling or revving the engine in neutral there is no misfire.
Only when a gear is engaged, and worse when attempting to drive there is severe misfiring.
If this was a conventional car I would say definitely the problem is the spark plugs.
However with the complexity of the Honda I am seeking information from anyone with this experience before I begin stripping anything.
I have not as yet found a auto mechanic who will work on this model auto.
Many thanks for your attention.
No work has been done on the car.
The check engine light is not turning on neither is the D4 light flashing when driving.
I have only driven a very short distance as i did not want to make the problem worse.
Driving is very difficult as there is very little power available as the engine is continually misfiring.
I have checked the self diagnosis system. The check engine light does not blink thus not showing a fault.
Thank you for your help.

I have the same symptoms on my 1991 Accord. In Park or Neutral engine is smooth. In drive gears or Reverse lots of vibration, misfires? and low power delivered to wheels.
190,000 miles. Always the vibrations at stops have been bothersome unless in neutral or park. This is a whole other level.

To make this thread less confusing for future readers, start a new thread. If you can answer some of my questions in the post, that would help. Also post if you had any work done or other issues with the car not long before the misfire started in the new thread. Did you fill up the gas tank right before this happened?
