I have a 92 Honda Accord EX, i have an issue with my car dieing on me while i am driving. I did check for spark and there is no spark. Any idea's what to look for would be greatly appreciated. Or anything i can test to start breaking down anything that it could be.

Well i looked on the forum for any other topics that may be related to mine, i do hear the fuel pump when turning the key,my car will not start anymore. This was a intermittent issue, the last time it ran i was on the freeway and it just died on me just like it did on the streets. Could it be the distrib or more likely the relay??? thanks

When no-start is present, check for 12V to the blk/yel wire at the distributor. If 12V is missing, the ignition switch assy is faulty (common problem). It's an easy replacement.

If 12V is present, you have a faulty ignitor or coil. Check DIY forum for links to diagnostics to check these components.

If you don't wan't to do diagnostics, there are two paths; replace coil (seems slightly more likely than ignitor) and then ignitor, hoping to hit problem first, or simply replace distributor to be certain. Cost of a rebuilt distributor is <$100, last time I checked.

good luck

If you want to diagnose, download a 90-93 Accord manual from Online Manuals links in DIY forum.

Yes, distributor problems are a regular problem for most Honda's.

good luck
