Default 1992 honda accord lx coupe

just purchase a 1992 accord with 21,000 miles. previous owner was a 71 old man who purchased the vehicle new. Vehicle sat idle for many years at his farm under a tree. last oil service was mybe 8 years ago, maybe longer. All maintence items are factory installed. I am concern with the transmission and engine. the transmission has hard shifts and the engine seems a little noisey on cold start up then quiets down when the engne reaches operating temperture. what should I do with the trans? change the fluid a couple of times. I change the oil with full syn.

do a FULL tune up on the WHOLE CAR...you should be good after that. cb7 are great cars and last long f-in time. Just take care of it and it will do you good for ALONG TIME

If this is your first honda, you should understand that pre-98 auto transmissions shift under positive pressure and do indeed feel different from the GM 'mush' shift.
Hondas typically have a little noise from the valve train at start up until the rocker arms warm up a little bit and expand.
My experience with synthetic oil in older hondas is that you will find any and every place oil might possibly leak.
