1993 Accord Instrument Cluster Fuse?
Sorting through a variety of electrical issues on this car (car has an automatic)
The main one (at the moment) - I put the key in the ignition and turn it to start the car, when I am in the "on" position - instead of all the warning lights lighting up before starting, only the one that's an image of a battery lights up. The car starts, but I am unable to shift out of park without using the manual release slot. Speedo does not work.
This looks like a possible fuse issue, but I cannot identify which circuit would control both the warning lights and the interlock.
Help!
Thanks!!!
edited to add more info -underdash fuse#1 is blown. Replacing the fuse brings everything back up except when I touch the brake pedal with the car running (and this isn't the brake light fuse) - the fuse blows again.

RE: 1993 Accord Instrument Cluster Fuse?
There is a link as the closed brake light switchprovides a signal which grounds the shift lock solenoid causing it to unlock, enabling shift lever movement. Based on your description, I would suspect the shift lock solenoid has an internal fault causing a high current draw, and blowing fuse No. 1.
Fuse no. 1 does supply other circuits, but only the shift lock solenoid is linked to the brake light switch.
I'm a Ga. Tech grad also, AE70, CE72 working in the oil business.
good luck
