Okay I want to start off by saying that I know absolutely nothing about cars but I love my 1993 Accord SE 2 door. However I have had trouble with it for 3 years now. I have seen many posts arguing about tcu's and I think it may be the problem but I would appreciate any advice.

My problem is that it randomly revs up for no reason and the d4 light comes on. It usually happens at around 40 mph but sometimes it is sluggish at acceleration and has violent vevs. Like I said I know very little about cars and dont know what these engine codes are that everyone talks about. On a side note at about the time this started the indicator lit up saying that the passenger door was open and that light stays on so I took out the bulb.

I really don' t want to waste money doing something that wont help and every mechanic says there is nothing wrong with it because it doesn't do it for them when I take it. Please any help would be appreciated because I don't know how much longer I can drive it like this.

There is a sticky at the top "Common DIY Threads" that describes how to get the codes from the ECU and TCU. I really hate to say replcae the TCU when one of the sensors on the trans could be going bad.
