1993 Accord stolen and need fix ignition
After my honda was stolen and the key they tried using broke off inside, I purchased new ignition switch for it but I can not turn to I position to get pin release to work....can anyone tell me easy way to do so please
1. See this video for tips to try to get the broken key out.
2. If the broken key comes out, try to use your own key afterward. You may or may not need to replace ignition cylinder if the broken key comes out.
3. Last resort: If you can or cannot remove the broken key, and still cannot turn the ignition to lock (0) to replace key cylinder, then see this video.

93 was my last year with Honda, so I don't know if it's changed, but this is what I remember.
There are 3 parts to the ign assy. The electrical portion, the key cylinder, and the lock body that holds it together.

In the image above, the "pin" is what holds the cylinder to the body. If the key won't turn allowing you to remove the cylinder from the body, you can either drill into the cylinder till it's damaged enough to turn, or remove the body from the steering column and drill out the pin (don't damage the body).
NOTE: if you use a slide hammer to remove the cylinder, you will likely do damage to the body turning it into a hunk of junk...
Thanks all for your responses I did buy a cylinder and have tried my best to get the old one out but yes with the key broken off inside it won't allow it to turn so....I would hate to break steering column or ignition switch any further but feel I may have no choice but get it hammered out I guess worse case scenario try the drill with fingers crossed and just remembered I may have a nifty fingernail file that may fit in there perfectly to maybe yank that broken piece out....lol thanks guys you definitely helped I am grateful there is a place to go for my Honda dilemmas it makes life a little easier
ok I have tried the removal of broken key and could not get it out so can you explain the drilling process better? I don't want to do it wrong and ruin my steering column I have a few drills and think this is only choice I have left but I am thinking maybe can rent a tool at autozone or o'reillys maybe.....any suggestions?

Your two options are to drill out the cylinder, or drill out the pin.
You can google "how lock work" for pictures on what keeps a lock from turning, but the idea is to drill out all of the pins straight down the path the key goes. Once the pins are out of the way, the lock will turn so you can push the pin and remove the cylinder.
The other option is to drill out the pin itself. Trouble is, it's hard to get to, if it is at all possible.
You can remove the assembly to make it easier, which is simple, but not easy.
awesome thanks so much I will google and drill ready lol you are such a great help I have tried everything I can to get cylinder to turn so can pin release but the broken key wedged in so tight I can't get the to move or get cylinder to turn so drill time inevitable it seems Let ya know how goes ty again
