to get a new, properly keyed switch will be a couple hundred all on its own. the new interior panels and new weather stripping should be about $200. as long as those were the only things broken, you shoud be okay moneywise. Get the interior panels for the column from a junkyard, get the switch OEM, and the weatherstripping from anywhere.

Yes I have insurance but it will not cover it on this car since it is only liability. Even if I had full I dont think I would claim it since it is just a daily driver bucket to me to keep the miles off of my impala. Honestly had no idea that the car was that far up on the food chain for stolen cars in Texas.

Would the autozone/napa/etc... ignitions suffice? Not really tripping on the cosmetics of it just need the key portion fixed asap as the car is due for inspection next month. Gonna hit the yards tomorrow to look forcolumn pieces.

a napa keyswitch should work just fine as long as it has the connections you need.

Ya know....as much as POS as my car is.....my alarm saved it from getting ripped off.....although I kinda wished they wouldve taken it.......then I would be spending money on repairs to just be able to sell it for a 1/3 of what I spent on it......couldve just walked away....which I think is why I havent bothered to replace the window (thank god AZ is still warm enough right now) gonna suck in a month or two though.....oh well...I hope its gone by then.......
