Default 1993 engine replacement

Here we go. Cannot seem to find an engine in decent condition under $475.Found a good block for = $100. Head check and valve seals = $80. Timing belt, water pump, various seals gaskets etc. = $150. Head gasket set = $150. Total = $480.00!!! Which way shouldpoor old dad go??? I know, tell the teenage RACER he will be riding the bus!!!

Make him chip in for it, you sure you cant find one? you checked craigslist or ebay and such? I let my complete motor go for $300.

Just checked craigslist & ebay and nothing. I called all the local junk yards and all i can find cheaper have "small top end tick" "smokes a little" "unknown mileage" etc.

Try car-part.com. I've found parts locally by specifying my zip code. I bought one engine for a Dodge Ram that has worked out well.

Thanks to all for the info. Found two at car-parts under 200,000 mi. less than 100 miles from my home. Best deal? 157,000 mi. $360.00. Decision time!!! Again, thanks to everyone at HAF the advice is greatly appreciated. I will post results when the task is complete or, when we hit a snag.
