1993 Manual Transmission Issue Tonight
Well, I was at a stop light after eating at a Mexican Restrauant tonight. This car was not paying attendent and almost rear ended me. I save my car by Popping the clutch and hauled *** forward. Now the problem is that its stuck in second gear....IDK what happen? I press the clutch in and out and it works fine but its stuck in gear....What is going on?
Thanks

Well, I had a Very Violant Vibrations when I was rev in first gear and shifting in to second. Also, I can leave the shifter in Neutral and when I release the clutch it start going (its stuck in second).....
When the shifter is in neutral, the tranny is in 2nd? Maybe the 1-2 shift fork is broken? But then it wouldn't do anything when you shift to 1st. Whathappens when you shift to 3rd or 4th?

I understand 3, 4, 5, & R, but I don't understand 1st. 1st & 2nd gears sharea synchro hub betweenthem. If it's stuck in the position locking 2nd to the shaft, I don't see how you can even move it to 1st.
A broken shift fork would allow you to move the shift lever to 1st but it wouldn't actually move the synchro hub. So that seems to eliminate a broken 1-2 shift fork.
Now I'm thinking the 2nd-gear baulk ring is seized onto the 2nd gear cone. I guess that would lock 2nd gear to the shaft, while allowing the hub to slide to neutral & over to the 1st-gear position.
Been running the tranny with not enough oil?

Well, I put the shifter in to second and rev the motor to almost redline. I got a very viloent vibration and i was about to shift to 3rd...WTH is going on...Now I am able to drive it normally...
So now it works OK??
I guess that DOES fit with the baulk ring seized to the gear cone. You managed to break it free & now it works.
I imagine shifting INTO 2nd (from either direction) might be a little rough for awhile.
Check your tranny oil level.
