Default 1994 accord shifting problems

I have a 1994 Honda Accord that runs good. But you will be driving along and it will rev up like it is down shifting into a lower gear. Seems todo it more when your on the highway. I wouldnt think the tranny is bad because it shifts okay most f the time. Does any experts have any suggestions. Would the speed sensor cause this? I read on one of the threads that if I change the fluid 3-4 times and add Lubegaurd that it might help. Any suggestions would help. Trying to avoid changing the tranny. Thanks

Check for engine and transmission codes. There is a thread called common diy threads on top of the gen tech help forum. There is a link to checking engine and transmission codes. Let us know if you have any stored codes.

How long has it been since you changed the transmission fluid? Is the fluid up to the proper level? Is the fluid red, or is it brown with a burnt smell? If you decide to change the fluid, use the Honda ATF fluid.

A trans throttle cable adjustment check should be performed. This may help.

good luck
