Default 1994 Honda manual transmission

Just got this car less than a month ago. While driving the transmission stopped working. Shifter in to gear but not actually being engaging to move. Will start when pushing clutch in and gear shifter moving into all gears. But when releasing clutch nothing happens except for engine revving. What's wrong? And how can I fix this?

Any work done recently? Like axle replacement?

Does the shift lever feel normal shifting into all the gears? Or is the lever just free to move every which way? That might be shift cables broken or disconnected.

When you think you've shifted into gear, and let up the clutch pedal, does the speedometer register anything? If it does, then maybe one axle has popped out just enough to spin.

Last thing is a worn-out clutch. Has it been slipping? They don't normally go completely & suddenly without slipping for awhile.
