Default 1995 honda accord no power to fuel pump, replaced main relay

I have a 1995 honda accord with the 2.2l engine that will jot start because there is no power going to the fuel pump. I replaced the main relay with a new one. After replacing it, the pump powered on and the car starte, ran for a min, then stalled. Now it power is not making it to the fuel pump again. Any suggestions?

What are you using as your ground to test at the fuel pump?

Test for power on the red/wht wire at the main fuel relay. That should have power with the key in the II position.

I tested for power at the pump itself. You can also hear it power on when it does get power

What I'm asking is where did you connect your volt meter or test light to ground when testing at the fuel pump?

I tested for ground on the ground side of the pump connector.
But as I said initially, it ran fine for about a minute on a new main relay before losing power again

It is possible that the ground wire is flaky at the fuel pump and you randomly had a good ground at the fuel pump. Testing between the blk/yel to a bare metal bolt as ground will verify you aren't dealing with a ground wire problem at the fuel pump. A bad ground can lead you down the wrong path, because the blk/yel may have 12V but can't find ground. This would lead you down the wrong path to troubleshooting.

The other item to test are the inputs to the main fuel relay. Losing power to the main relay could also cause your problems. The red/wht and wht/grn wires at the main relay should always have 12V with the key in the II position. Try this test with the MFR plugged in and let us know what you find.

Okay, tested power to the red and white wire, and the green and white wire and was getting 12v to both. Interestingly as I was testing the relay started clicking on and off like crazy, no rhyme or reason to it. I even left it alone and it kept doing it. Each time I heard it click, I would also hear the fuel pump turn on. I may have a short in the harness, or a bad ecu. What do you think?

Were you testing with a volt meter or a test light?

Is the car still not starting?

Volt meter, I don't have a testlight. Yes, the car still doesn't start. It'll fire every now and again, but won't start.

Here are the tests you should do with your volt meter on each pin. Let us know what wire(s) is not giving the proper reading.

Top Row
1. grn/blk Continuity to ground through ECM (the ECM grounds this circuit to prime the turn on the fuel pump).
2. blu/red 12V when key turned to start position
Space
3. blk Ground at all times
Bottom Row
4. blk/yel 12V to fuel pump
5. red/wht 12V with key in I/II position
6. yel/blk 12V with key in I/II position
7. wht grn 12V at all times
