Default 1996 honda accord ex 2 door coupe 2.2 liter auto tranny

I'm having trouble with the egr valve.. i've replaced it and whenever i hook up the vacume line it misfires. When i take off the vacume line it doesn't. I've replaced the spark plugs (NGKs) along with distributer cap and the ignition wires. And a recent problem i've come across is when im at a full stop and push down the pedel it hesitates sometimes. Any help?

Check to see if there are any vaccum leaks anywhere else. Maybe check the hose coming off the brake booster and going to the intake plenium seeing if there is any cracks in it sucking air.

You might want to see if cleaning the EGR ports helps. Refer to pdf.

I know its the egr valve because it kept throwing a code at me for it... so i replaced it. and as for the hesitation it recently started.. the egr problem i have had since i got it back in november of 10. I'm pretty sure it's most likely clogged somewhere and will try and undo it. thanks for the advice

How about sharing what code is presented? There are many fixes for a code.

If the EGR ports and EGR manifold have not been cleaned, this is likely source of EGR symptoms. If one port is blocked and another open, excess EG is delivered to the open port cylinder, leaning mixture and causing hesitaiton and possible misfire.

good luck

thanks for the help. Turned out that all four ports were clogged. cleaned them up and no problem anymore. Still a little big of a hesitation when taking off but its more of a grip feeling with my tires. (which i should replace anyways) no more codes thrown at me though. THANKS!
