Lightbulb 1997 2.2 Auto slipping from 3rd to 4th.. is it solenoid? if so where is this?

okay.. only 113k, we have drained and replaced fluid..
it drives GREAT from 1-2-3 then going into 4th, it slips and revs up and you have to let off the gas to have it shift to 4th..
did a diagnosis and nothing came up outta the computer..
we were just gonig to replace the transmission today, but pull a part didnt have one, friend told me to replace the filter, but i heard that it is a sponge type that is in the case, so thats a lot of work, and they didnt have one in stock and would have to order it..
i read it could be the solenoid(s) yet wouldnt that show up on the computer?

i know where the solenoids are... but shouldnt that show up in diagnosis test??

also, would driving it while it does this mess it up further?

thanks for the help

I had issues with my 94 Accord slipping, and ended up buying a used tranny and swapping them out.

Now I have a 97 Accord, and on these years the filter is internal to the transmission and cannot be changed out unless an overhaul is done. Not sure why Honda designed it like this.
