1997 accord 2.7 V6, 4 speed auto tranny over heating issues
Hi to all, im new to the site, but in need of some help. I just went to get some breakfast, and while i sitting in the drive thru, i see steam rolling out from under the hood. I looked at my temp gauge, and it was climbing a little over half way, i turned my heat on full blast, and it dropped down some, made it back to work, popped the hood, and the pics im going to attach, i have no clue what this is. So can someone please point me in the right direction on what this may be? Im thinking maybe the thermostat housing??? but not sure. Thanks in advance for any info you guys/girls can give me

For the overheating problem, first check the coolant level in the radiator and reservoir when the car is cooled down. Top off the coolant as necessary and purge out any air from the cooling system by running the car with the radiator cap off. If there are air pockets in the cooling system, most of the purging will happen after the thermostat has opened.
If the coolant level is okay, ensure both cooling fans run. When you turn on the A/C with the car running, does both cooling fans run? If not, one or more motor may need replacement.
If both cooling fans run with the A/C on; but, doesn't when the car is beginning to overheat, then is may possibly be a problem with engine coolant temperature switch. If that happens, disconnect the 2-P connector at the temperature switch (see picture) and use a wire or small paper clip to jump the connector. Turn the car to ON, if both cooling fans run, it may be a problem with the temperature switch.

Thanks for the info. Come to find out, its not the picture i posted, got to looking some more when i have some light, and it was a small hose behind the egr valve that has split, and it was spraying antifreeze out. The hose was not even 7 inches long probably. But again, thanks for the quick responses to my question. Awesome website, thanks again
