no problem, im gonna stop by a junk yard and pick up a few things tomorrow, and ill see what the price is on the fan, otherwise ill by the motor from napa, i went to advance auto parts and they had no idea what i needed when i asked for coolant temp switch a, is there 1 type switch for both areas, with diff. ecu programing? or are they two different parts all together? and im also going to pick up the ac guage tomorrow also, i might need assistance on pressure numbers, etc.

If the bone yard has one, check it with 12v, then I'd got for it....I've forgotten what year you have now, not going to scroll back an forget my somewhat train of thought....PS, add the year, engine and that to your signature....I think you had a 5th gen (94-97)....

Different, Thermo A (cooling fan switch to them, maybe) comes on at ~194*. Thermo B (condesor fan, maybe) comes on around ~217*...

I'd defer to TX when it comes to the proper temps/pressure/humidity with the gauges...I can get you close but I'd consider him the resident expert right now

yea, im pretty sure its 194 for A and at 217 b turns on both fans, i called autozone and they dont know what im looking for either! so tomorrow when im done at the registry im going to head over to autozone, and see if they can figure it out for me. otherwise i may have to pick one out of the junk yard, id rather not but if worse comes to worse... oo and the car i have is a 1997 LX

...as I said, short term memory issues.....I read quite a few posts everyday. So pretty much a 94-97 donor car should work for you.......tell them (AZ) you need the "rad cooling fan switch"...should be good from there????

Cool, making progress. Yes, I personally would go for the fan first...then get to the ac. Again, thanks for posting the progress...what works and what does't. It helps everyone in the future.

I saw this in another thread you had.......Me, start with jumping the wires on thermo a (t-stat) with the key in the "on" position......see what happens (both fans should come on).

If they do, either the switch is bad...I know you just replaced it...there is air in the system.....t stat is sticking.

Last, try to stay warm....It was like 65 yesterday, washed the cars and that, might snow tonight

hey poorman,

so i tested the switch and both fans work, so after driving home from work i noticed the coolant cap was cold. so i checked the coolant level and filled the rad with quarter of a jug of coolant, now i ran car for 30+ minutes but now the temp guage is not rising higher than normal any more, but the fans did not run either, plus its 45 degrees now where i am so...

im guessing i am fine i have to run back to work for something so ill post back in a little while
