1997 accrod, v4 120k mile service, SRS light
Hi,
I'm new to this forum and don't know much about cars.
My 97 ACCORD has almost 120k miles and wanted to service. I've seen ad from mechanics shop for about 150$ for 120k mile service.
My question is, is that reasonable price ? Also, what are the things I should make sure he does, like radiator flush, different fluid change ( not just refill but empty it first and then fill it, something like that) OR is it better to do certain individual services separately ? ( probably would cost more but I'll be sure that he did it )
Also, SRS light stays on all the time. I'll ask for the code when I go for service. But just wanted to check that is it possible that all it needs is some kind of reset and it'll go away ?
I've done all other services on regular basis, but since I found this forum I thought I do check with you guys and get some help.
Thanks in advance.

the srs light can be reset by simply removing the yellow plug out of the rear of the fuse box, jumper the plug and turn the key to the on position, the light blinks like 6 times then goes off and then it will be out (unless there is a problem with your SRS system this should fix it) search for SRS in the forum and you'll see a post with instructions and pictures of what you need to do.
As far as the 120k service goes it depends a lot on what has been done previously, if your timing belt, water pump and seals have never been done then do those things right away that's going to run you well over $150.00
Find out what that $150.00 service entails though, it may be a good deal....

Thanks for your response.
I've done all other services on time. Also did timing belt and water pump at 100k. so this is regular 120k service.
I also found that there is a slight leak in radiator. I got the estimate froma mechanic 110 part + 75 labor. does that sound okay ?
Thanks.

that depends on what type of radiator it is.... I don't remember if honda uses aluminum or plastic radiators... Call a radiator shop and ask them if they can weld it and that should cost $35-$50.00 for the repair, if it's plastic then it just needs to be replaced and a minimum 1 hr charge at $75.00 plus $110.00 labor sounds about right, I can't imagine that job taking over an hour... however, if labor rate is $50.00 and flat rate gives it 1.5 hours then I'd say he's about right but see if you can get it repaired first...
