Arrow 1997 Honda Accord Dash lights oout

So im trying to diagnose why my dash lights dont work, i've changed the dimmer switch, checked every fuse. Everything seems fine. the dimmer switch/cruise control/sunroof/ AC and hazard switch all lights up. i tried jumping the black and red wires to the dimmer switch and it didnt make the dash turn on so i know its not the switch. does anyone have any advice on what i should check next? im kinda at a loss and would greatly appreciate any advice.

You will need to determine if you have a missing power or ground. I don't have the wiring diagram in front of me, so I can't give you specific wire colors to test.

Do you have a 12V test light, where you can start testing for power and ground? That is the best way to ensure you have enough current vs using a volt meter.

Its pretty simple to start. Hook your test light up to a bare metal bolt somewhere under the dash or door hinge area. Verify your test light is working by touching the under dash fuses to see if the light turns on to verify you have a good connection to ground on your test light.

Unplug the dash brightness controller. Put the other lead of your test light to the red/blk wire and see if the test light turns on. Do the same for the red wire.

Let us know what you find for the red/blk and the red wire.
