Default 1998 Accord Auto LX

I was changing the front brake pads for my daughters car. One of the lugnuts was stuck so I had to break the lug (no big deal, I have changed these before on GMC and Buicks). I saw that there were 2 screws that was holding the rotor in place. but when I removed these screws, the rotor would not budge. I stopped and went to the driver side and changed the brake pads and could loosen up the screws and wiggle the rotors.

Once I was done with the driver side, I went back to the passenger side to try removing the rotor. I tried a prybar and hammered on the rotor just to try breaking it loose. Would not budge at all! So I gave up and took it to a shop and they changed it for $60 (GRRRR).

Now, I wonder what else I could try? I never had a problem removing a rotor from various cars! Did I overlook something?

There should be two other holes on the rotor that are threaded. You could have used the proper sized bolt, snug both bolts, then slightly tighten each one back and forth to walk off the rotor.

I saw those, but assumed those were extra holes in case the rotors were put on at a certain angle (to prevent you having to rotate the rotor to get the holes to line up).

Well thank you, now I know what to do next time!

Was rusted on, happens all the time...antiseize on the back of the rotor, used very sparingly will help prevent future issues. Put it on the lug studs too...you won't break them the next time.
