1998 accord coupe door problem
My 98 accord coupe driver side door will not open. It will not open from the inside or outside. The door lock pin lifts to the open position with the auto door opener but I can't get the door open. It is like the door latch is stuck in the locked position or it is broken closed.
I am able too peek inside the door by looking down the window and I can see the door handle moving the mechanism but the door dont open.. Any ideas. I googled and there was a hit on drilling a hole in the door. This was for an older model honda.
Can the dealer get it open?

There was a recent thread about the rear door on a newer accord. See: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ad.php?t=31544
You will have to remove the door panel to inspect the mechanism in more detail. I don't think the 98 accords have that same spot to drill like you found via google.

i had this same problem. lived with it for bout 1 year. dont remember exactly what broke but i think i slammed the door in anger one to many times . it was a bitch to get open (beyond my current ability). the auto guy who did it accidentally shattered the window which then allowed him easy access. hopefully you have an easier time.

1998 Honda Accord EX Coupe
I got my door fixed. I had to take the door pane off,l removed from the inside. After that choir was completed the latch had to be drilled out from the inside of the car.
Here are pictures of the latch after drilled out of the car.
Remove the white plastic cover and drill right in the center with a 1/2" drill bit.
