Default 1998 Accord Front Pipe

Hey guys, has anyone used a California emissions front pipe (manifold to cat) on a non-ULEV 1998 Accord w/ auto trans? My dad's car has a hole in the flex pipe and I'd rather not have him spend the extra $50 on a non-ULEV pipe if I can help it. From what I can tell they aren't much different, just donut gasket vs flat. Anyone had a similar experience?

If memory serves me, code for lord help us, they will not work- I think one of the manifold is a 4-2 and the other is 4-1. Meaning the bottom of the exh manifold where the pipe connects, one has two "pipes" and the other only has one "pipe".

Also, not sure where you are shopping for the pipe but I don't see that much of a price difference....my quick look, I found the Non-CA pipe for less (~$5) than the CA pipe?

I looked on Rockauto, Amazon, and Napa. Rockauto lists the Non- CA pipe for $95.79, and the Cal pipe for $67.95. The pipe on the car is a single inlet with the normal triangle 3-hole flange.
