I have been having shifting issues for about a month, though all gears. I was getting the code P720. All repair shops (and dealerships) said that the transmission is bad and needs to be replaced. $3000+. Long story short, checked out all the solenoids. Found that the Shift Solenoid Assembly was plugged, which gave me back 2nd and 4th gear and a smoother reverse. Cleaned out the Linear solenoid assembly. That gave me perfect shifting through all gears except 3rd. Seems to be plugged somewhere as the clutch wants to grab, but not quite. Is there any other filters (more like a 3mm screen) within the transmission? Thank you for your time.

I guess you know about the hydraulic pump inlet screen under the trans pan. It can block and restrict intake to the hydraulic pump and affect shift performance.

A used transmission may be a less-expensive option if you can't fix.

it's like I explained before, your trans is toast......REPLACE IT do not rebuild it.....see if HOA will offer some assistance.

 

same thing hapen to my 4 cylinder. Thank god for wanreenty. They replaced it. it worked great for about 5,000 miles. Then boom same problem as before, Looks like i got to bring it back. These auto tranny suck bad, i wish i had a manual.
