1998 Honda Accord low fuel indicator

1998 Honda Accord low fuel indicator

The low fuel indicator is not working on my 4 cyl ex. I checked the lamp and it is working. The guage is working correctly also. What causes this problem and how can I test and repair? Thanks Jonathan
