Default 1999 accord 4cyl transmission problem

About a few days ago my accord started showing signs of a transmission issue, and I would like some advice! Starting up from a stop, pushing the accelerator down, the engine begins ro rev, but not in gear. Then, it kicks into 1st gear after a couple of seconds. All other shifting is fine (first to second, second to third and back down again). The problem only seems to persist from a stop. If I let off the accelerator, and let the engine return to idle, the lurch is not as bad when it kicks inot 1st gear. Any idea what is going on, or what needs to be fixed? What are the options if it is a transmission that needs to be replaced? Cost? It's got 107,000Miles on it, with regularly scheduled service done. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks!

This is a bit old, but I had the same problem, but with all gears.I found that the solenoid assembly filter was plugged. That resolved the first and second gear issue.

Not meaning to hijack your thread, but what would cause slow shifting into gear from park
or between drive and reverse? Takes about 1 second for it to click into gear.

Done that, changed fluid, cleaned the magnetic plug, it had accumulated some metal,
but it was all very fine particles, I assume this is what it's supposed to do. This unit
has 90k miles on it.
