I have a 2000 Accord and need to change the cabin air filter. I found your instructions to be extremely helpful.

However, the first step is different in that I don't have an ashtray but an open storage space. There is a plastic trim piece that sits there under the radio. It's held in by 4 clips. The two on top come out easily with a small screwdriver.

The bottom 2 are a problem. You can't bend the top down because the trim piece "rides" on top of the sides of the center console. I can only bend it back about 1/2" and I'm getting nervous about breaking it.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to remove that plastic peice?
