Default 1999 - extra level of security, alarm etc.

Just purchased my first Accord a 1999 and I am off on a second adventure well south of the border. I have done this trip previously in another vehicle and I used a 2-way LCD remote alarm to manage my vehicle and it worked well, with the remote going off anytime anyone was tampering with the vehicle.

I want to do the same for my ne-used Accord. The confusion is integrating it with the existing Honda alarm. I read where the factory alarm has windshield sensors, is this true? I already purchased an alarm online actually before discovering that the Accord had a relatively "smart" alarm, a 3300L Avital.

Other questions I have: What additional precautions can one take to improve the security of the vehicle? For example, would disconnecting the auto trunk release help? Anything online about adding a method to lock down the hood? Any kits sold online to add a locking center console, etc?

I'm not expert at security systems or stealing cars.

The OE set up is pretty good. Unless you have the "chipped" key or great knowledge how to by-pass that OE system the car isn't going anywhere on its own.....a flatbed will haul it off no problem. Yes, they can smash and grab but the car is not going anywhere.

SO IMHO, if I added anything it would "piggy back" with the OE system but not into the starting system. Motion, tilt, sound sensors......the trunk and hood, tie into the oe ones. Never heard of these having a "wind shield" sensor but they might.
