2000 2.3 p1768 nightmare... Master techs, I need you.
My friends 2000 went into limp mode and threw p0700 and p1768. Before I knew about the problem, he had thrown a bunch of parts at it and had already replaced the solenoid. The connectors are firm, but the codes persist.
While searching for clues on the internet, I came across a diagnostic test for the solenoid. I keep hearing about fuse #15 that's a 7.5 amp fuse, and even in the diagnostic test, they refer to that #15 fuse as well. Problem is, there is no such fuse. There are three fuse boxes on this vehicle and none of them has a 7.5 amp #15 fuse. It's supposed to be something along the lines of ACG, but both the 15 amp and 40 amp ACG fuses are in the underhood fuse box. The #15 is supposed to be in the underdash fuse relay box. And for this being such a common problem, I cannot find any information on the internet. All sources say to just check the #15 7.5 amp fuse. Even that incredibly thorough diagnostic test which is for a 98 to 2001.
Upon checking the fuses though, because I wanted to do a hard reset to get rid of p0700 because it won't clear with the scanner (just wanted to see if it came back), I happened to notice that the #6 15 amp ECU fuse was not in the fuse box. It had been removed. Funny thing is, the vehicle started just fine. I don't know how that's possible, but it most assuredly did. So I decided to throw that 15 amp fuse back in there. Went to turn it over, and got a no crank no start condition. Also blew the #6 fuse.
I'm about to go out there and remove the ECU fuse and the clock fuse to get that hard reset done. I'm wondering what did I blow when that ECU fuse blew that would cause a no crank no start condition. It is the only change that I have made myself. Also, help me figure out this #15 7.5 amp fuse that needs to be checked. Here's a link to the diagnostic test for the solenoid as well;https://www.justanswer.com/honda/37m...shes-time.html
Thank you in advance for your consideration and help with this. We need to get this vehicle back on the road ASAP.. Much obliged.
