Default 2000 accord fuel milage

Looking at buying a 2000 accord coupe with the 5 speed 4 cylinder. I am wanting to know what kind of city/hwy milage it will get with normal driving, so not racing from light to light but not driving like an old lady either. Does anyone have any first hand experience? Thanks

98 4cyl auto got mid-20s around town & up to 33 on highway. A 5-spd should do better.

In the summer, with mixed driving - 1/3 highway, 2/3 city - I regularly get 28mpg. 33-35 highway on trips. In the winter, it drops about 3mpg.

This is with spirited driving; somewhere between grandpa, and crazy-kid-hammering. In my thinking the 4cyl's like being pushed a little, run hard without beating it.

Gliding in neutral helps a lot. For example, my drive to church is 7mi. each way, and I can glide for a mile each way. That's 14% of the trip at idle. And yes, I try to be sensitive to the drivers behind me, and don't p!ss people off by dropping my speeds.

Hope you get the car, and please let us know how you like it.

That theory has been disproven many times. Just leave it in drive.
