Default 2000 Honda Accord Front caliper no fluid

2000 Honda Accord 2.3
149000 miles
Front Disc / Rear Drum

Installed new front rotors, calipers, pads. Passenger side first...all went as normal...drivers side went fine until i was bleeding the line, then no fluid. Pulled the line from the caliper...still dry. The flex hose is fine. The passenger side is fine. The rears are fine. Went to a NTB and the mechanic worked on the brakes thinking there was a problem with the flex...no problem.

No brake lights come on.
The Works but with one front brake operational a panic stop is conflicting with the system kicking out the passenger front the rears are all that are in play, with the driver front non functional.

I originally started the brake job when the brakes felt funny at a panic stop...I don't know how long the problem was present as the car was purchased 4000 miles and 4 months ago.

Wondering if this rings a bell with anyone, I am at a loss for now.

Thinking abs Unit would send a dash light?
Don't know anything on the Portioning Valve?
No Fluid leaks.
All lines are proper.
Brake pedal is firm and normal.
Just have no fluid going to the drivers side front caliper.

Thanks,
CT

No fluid flow/pressure to driver's front suggest a damaged (pinched) brake line. I would remove line at master cylinder (MC) and at caliper and attempt to force air pressure through the line. If you can't clear the blockage, the line must be replaced. Suggest checking that fluid can be expelled at MC also.

A blocked line w/ no/low brake pressure might play havoc w/ ABS controls. Fix no flow problem first and see if that resolves all.

good luck

So you removed the rubber brake hose where it connects to the hard line and there was no fluid there?

The line that comes off the ABS unit is not sending fluid. Has anyone ever tried to clean or fix these units or just replace?

sounds like a solenoid valve is stuck closed for that drivers front fluid circuit. you could try to disassemble and figure out what the problem is, but i suspect the brake fluid has not be changed or flushed, maybe ever, and that has done in the hydraulic control unit. rock auto has them for 670 bucks plus core charge...you could check the dealer. last price i show was 337 bucks, but that was published in 2000.

I thought the brake line from master cylinder to caliper was blocked. ABS should not flow any fluid when brake is pressed. It only flows fluid when ABS actuates.

ABS modulators are readily available as used units for $50-$100. Check ebay and car-part.com.

good luck

the two lines from the master cylinder go to the hydraulic control unit and then are distributed to each wheel. so, fluid always goes through the control unit. it sits there happy until it gets a request from a wheel speed sensor to activate.
