thanks bushcal. i will tell my mechanic to take a look at that. did you have anything else besides the distrubutor changed before the alternator was changed. my mechanic already changed the distributor and temperature sensor (already paid over $300) and the same problem exists. how did your mechanic reach that conclusion?

Dave- What car do you have. And do you have any codes.
My egr post was for "gator".
The P1381 and alternator are a known issue

EDIT: Still not sure what "dave" has. Could be the same but without knowing year? Also not sure if he has CEL codes are not.

Hesitation
Hello! Im new to the Honda forum but not new to Hondas products. I would go along with Poorman212 with EGR ports. Recently bought 95 Accord ex 4cyl for my daughter it has 187000 miles on it. The first thing i did was clean the Intake manifold and EGR port/channels before the car did not run very good but after cleaning totally different car. Hope i helped somebody. Thanks,F1swede

99 dx with exact problem midrange rpm hesitate after
warmed up....
so 1st effort was to disconnect the temp sensor, and problem gone; plug back in, prob back, so i figured that's it, replaced sensor.... NOPE...
then deducing that the temp sensor tells the brain what to do with egr.... so looking into that....
i sure can't see how it would be the alternator, how would it be? puzzling...

it was actually the Honda dealer that told me the alternator was bad....I would never take the car to Honda only under circumstances like this. anyways paid the 100 diagnostic fee and bought the alternator from them then I simply changed it. Only way i checked to make sure that was the issue was i ran the car till it started acting up...stopped, disconnected the alternator, ran it again and all was good. highly suggest if the problem is in fact your alternator get the one from the dealer...i have read about compatible issues and such...hope this helps man
