taping in a 2000 honda accord v6 engine what could it be.

 

Could be anything moving inside the engine or belt driven outside the engine. Definitely check the oil level and make sure it is to the full mark if it is low.

Do you have an idea of where the noise is coming from? Is it happening all the time or only when driving the car?

I'd probably remove the serpentine belt to make sure the noise is not from the alternator, a/c compressor, or ps pump.
