2000 V6 won't start
I am temporarily living in Buffalo Grove, IL. My Accord has been sitting idle for a week and I couldn't start it today; it turns over but won't catch. Went through the owners manual, including checking the fuses. AAA roadside assistance said it doesn't seem to be getting fuel and needs to be towed. Tuesday.
I need suggestions for anything I can try with little resources. Also, a recommendation for a decent, local shop. I'm near the intersection of Lake Cook and Milwaukee. Thanks.

Turn the car to "on"/pos II - the CEL should come on for ~3 seconds and go off. During this time the fuel pump should prime/run-turn off radio, blower, close door (anything that makes nosie) and listen for the pump while the light is on, should stop when the light goes off-and hear a "click" to the left of the steering wheel.
Next, if you have nothing better to do, would be to spray carb/tb cleaner directly into the throttle body and see if it starts....confirms lack of fuel.

If you can confirm fuel pump is working as PM described, then an ignition problem is likely.
However, I think you have Coil-over-Plug (COP) igntiion, and a single problem should not prevent starting since you have six spark generating systems. Most likely reason is lack of power to the ignition caused by faulty ignition switch assy. If you have a distributor, the problem could be related to distributor faults.
Ignition switch assy replacement is an easy fix and should not cost more than 1 hr of labor plus part, perhaps $80-90 retail cost.
good luck
