Default 2001 4cyl auto trans Weird scraping sound, anybody had this before?

I have 120K on the auto tran after the Recall that was done at 36k miles.
The best way for me to describe this is a pulsing scraping sound (at 12 oclock and 6 oclock) when the wheel rotates on the passenger side. It's Definitely coming from just inside the trans case and it isn't the axle(i replaced the axle).
Shifts fine, fluid looks fine.
Something's about to go very wrong though.

I was thinking bearing of some sort.
anybody had this?

THANKS

Could be a bearing inside the trans is going?

Seems like you pretty well have it down to inside the trans.....but for giggles, with the out cv out of the wheel hub....spin the shaft in the trans.....still there?

yeah was thinking that but the 'scraping' noise stays ON when you stop the wheel at a certain position. That got me rethinking...something must be spinning to make that sound and it is related to position of the wheel also.

just odd
