On cranking, car lurches violently a couple times, seems to stall, then runs ok! If I attempted to pull out in traffic, I would most likely cause an accident. This does not happen all the time just infrequently. At idel prior to this happening, the idle was very rough! Anybody ever had this happen? If so, what did you do about it, or any ideas of what is causing it?

I just started getting lurching when I crank and put the car in drive, the car lurches with incrased RPM for a couple times, then its ok. Good thing I have my foot on the brake or it would move quickly forward. Once it settles down, the car drives and accelerates ok. Has anyone experienced this and if so, what did you do about it. Any suggestions what might be causing this!
