2001 Accord V6 A/C Hose Replacement
Hey Everyone,
I just joined this board after referral from a friend!
My fiance has a 2001 accord with the vtec v6, recently her AC stopped blowing cold air. I opened the engine bay and discovered the hose had rubbed against the radiator fan shroud and created a large hole in it.
I believe the hose to be part #80311-S87-A02 which is listed as a suction hose.
My question is, how much work is this to replace on my own. I've not done work on Hondas before. I have however, replaced A/C hoses on my Subaru before.
I'm assuming since the hole is sizeable all the coolant has leaked from the system so I shouldn't have to get it evacuated first right?
I should be able to replace the hose and get it recharged at a shop correct?
Any other advice or pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Me, I'm poor. There are compression fittings that can "repair" metal ac lines.
If the line has a hole in it...suggest a new drier - add the proper amount of oil back into the system _ 3 oz or so, check the manual - pull a vac. Doing this helps "burn" off and water that got into the system. Then be sure it holds the vac.....if not there is still a leak. Then charge the system.

Thanks!
I think this hole is too large to be patched using that method but I would be interested in trying it!
Apparently this line is "uncreachable" seems like I can reach it by taking the radiator shroud off. Has anyone done this on their own before?
