2001 Accord, Wont Shift When Cold
I bought a 2001 Honda Accord (175k miles) about a year ago, and so far everything has been working out just fine.
Recently however, in the morning, I have to let my car warm up for 6-7min and it still wont shift properly. It will shift extremely rough into 2nd gear, and it wont shift at all into 3rd. After I get up to 3500rpm the d4 light will start blinking and the CEL will come on, and I'll have to pull over and turn off my car and let it warm up for another 2-3min.
However, after I get off work and its 95 degrees outside, the car runs perfect. It shifts great and nothing is wrong with it.
Im not sure if I should take it in and spend (hopefully) $300-400 to get it fixed, or if this is just a signal that the transmission is going out. Plus I need to remember that winter is right around the corner.

Couple of things.
Go to the parts store and have them scan for the codes - get the actual code ("P" and four digits, P1250 for example) and not their description of the issue.....let us know what they are. The codes will store so don'd worry that the light might be off when they check.
Next, when was the last trans fluid change. I strongly suggest that you only use Honda Trans fluid.
Last - hate to go here. The auto trans in the 98-02 Accords is kind of known for not being the best.
