Default 2001 Honda Accord egr issues

I have a 2001 Honda Accord v-tec 4cyl engine that has a p 401 insufficient egr flow code. Before doing anything to the car it ran great. I really need to get this car smuggled so today I pulled off the plenum and cleaned the passage going from under the plenum to the egr valve and cleaned the inside of the plenum. I istalled a new gasket and put everything back together. Before starting the car I cleared the code thinking I wouldn't have any issues. When I started the car I got a little puff of white smoke which I figured was from the carb cleaner. The car started fine and idled with a slight roughness but when I went to give it any throttle I wanted to die. I was able to bring up the idle a bit but I just wants to die. If anyone has any ideas on what I may have done wrong or what I can do to correct this issue I would greatly appreciate the help.

Double check all your work, could be a vacuum leak, could be junk from the EGR cleaning that has to pass through the system. If it will idle, just let it run until the fans come on. Then try and increase the engine speed.

Check the wiring that you might have disconnected. I think(?) either the TPS or the MAP sensor has a plug that's physically interchangeable with another sensor nearby. Sorry I don't remember the details.

I think the EGR passage that could get plugged up runs through the intake manifold from the EGR valve to near the throttle body.

I'd probably pull the EGR valve and see if it is stuck open with any debris.

I've double checked all of my work and haven't found any lines pinched or anything out of the ordinary. The egr passage going to the egr valve is clear so I'm going to check the electrical connections like jimblake had mentioned next before taking anything apart.

Yes, sounds like the classic - MAP and TPS are switched. On the 6th gens the plastic on the wire end are different colors - one is blue and I this the other is black/grey.

Anyway the wires to the TPS should be:
GRN/BLK
RED/BLK
YEL/BLU

Ok I finally was able to go out and check out the tps and map sensor plugs and sure thing I had them crossed. I swapped the plugs and she purrs. Now I have just one more question. I have a p1259 code for the v-tech sensor. I have read up on it and checked out some videos and it looks like it's just a gasket change and a bit of cleaning on the sensor. Is that the correct procedure?

Don't feel bad about the plugs....I can't tell you how many times that has been done,

Anyway for the 1259....well there are a few steps....we'll assume the oil level is correct.

Yes I would pull and clean the screens - sorry too lazy to look - there is one one the solenoid and I'm pretty sure another on the front side of the head.....towards the pass front side of the head.

Was the 1259 there before the work on the egr flow?
